Support route when college costs rise

1

Check entitlement

Review SUSI and college support pages.

2

Gather documents

Income details, fees, tenancy and bank records.

3

Escalate early

Talk to student services before attendance or rent is affected.

Start with the official routes

For many students the first check is SUSI, but it is not the only support. Colleges may also offer hardship funds, disability supports, access supports and local assistance through student services.

If your circumstances have changed since you first applied, it is worth checking again rather than assuming you no longer qualify.

Ask for help before study is affected

Do not wait until you are considering dropping modules. Student services, access offices and money advisers can often point you to supports, paperwork help and urgent next steps.

If debt or missed bills are part of the problem, MABS is a useful budgeting and debt support route alongside college supports.
